Likes - Part 3

I'm not sure what kind of luck/good fortune/divine appointment I've been coming into lately, but for some reason, recently I have come across some of the best... things, for lack of a better word.

1. Teavana Weight To Go! tea. I'm just gonna say it: it doesn't make you lose weight, and that's not why I bought it. It is simply one of the most delicious teas I've ever had. Strawberry, rose petals, apples, beet root, and hibiscus. Perhaps it's marketed for weight loss because it could help curb dessert cravings. It really is that good, and Teavana is such a great company with their EquaTrade program and intolerance for genetically and chemically altered food.

2. Lancome Renergie Multiple Action Eye Cream. I'd already heard rave reviews about this eye cream, and I'm no product junkie. If you're like me and tend to wake up with that just-hit-by-a-train, bags-under-your-eyes look, then you'll love this stuff. It's just amazing. No other way to describe it.

3. Trader Joe's Spa Gentle Facial Cleanser. Cheap and chic. And it smells like an orange smoothie on your face. By far, it's the best face wash I've ever used. It leaves your face really clean without drying out your skin, and it's so gentle. Sometimes during my day I just go smell it.
4. Muesli. Recently inspired to actually use the oatmeal in my cupboard (Dave won't touch it), I decided to try my hand at making my own muesli. If you've never had it, muesli is kind of like the trail mix of cereal-- you use mostly raw ingredients and dried fruit, as opposed to eating processed flakes and sugary fruit-like pieces. I've been really pleased with it, and I find it so much more filling than regular cereal. Plus, you can fill up on less, don't get a sugar high, and it's about the same price as cereal, if not cheaper. Here's my recipe:

3 c. rolled oats (not instant or quick-cook)
1 c. wheat germ
2 Tbsp. flax seed
1/4 c. shelled raw sunflower seeds
1/4 c. roasted sliced almonds, unsalted
1/2 c. raisins or dates
1/4 c. coconut flakes

Mix together and store in a cool, dark place. Makes about 12-15 servings.

Happy end of the week!

the mrs.
